5 Months

Laila is now 5 months old. She's pretty happy about it.

I told her that we were going to have some cake to celebrate.

But first we had to go for a drive and get it.

But we ended up at the beach instead.

Bear Country

After Cosmos Mystery area, we took a quick rip down the road to go to a place called Bear Country USA. It's a drive through park where all of the animals roam free. It was really hot this day..and this bear was tuckered out.

There were other animals to see but the bears were by far the coolest. Too bad they're all sleeping.

This bear is awake and really close to our car. I didn't dare roll down the window.

After seeing the big bears, we parked the car and went to babyland to see all of the baby animals.

It looks like these cubs are fighting but the one on top is actually cleaning the other ones ear. How sweet. There were other animals to see but these bear cubs were the coolest.

Cosmos

Our last morning in the Black Hills area, we went to a place called Cosmos Mystery area. It was really neat..but very strange. Whenever I tried standing up straight..I felt like I would fall over.

Mommy isn't leaning on the doorway in this picture..she's standing normal..well kind of.

All of these pictures were taken inside an old cabin that made you feel unbalanced. To learn more about this place go here http://www.cosmosmysteryarea.com

Why isn't Mommy falling down??

Water Slide

After the thrill of the alpine slide we went back to our hotel for some more adventure. Our hotel had a waterpark attached to it so me and daddy put our swim trunks on and away we went.

I'm pooped!

Up then Down:)

After our ride on the old train, we drove to Keystone to take another kind of ride. These chairlifts didn't stop so Daddy had to be quick to get me on it.(safely)

Up Up and away. Once we got close to the top, I was able to see Mount Rushmore.

I had so much fun with Daddy that I HAD to go again but this time with Mommy. You can see how I went up..but how did I get down the mountain. Watch the video below to see.

1880 Train

Our South Dakota adventure continued in Hill City when we climbed aboard the 1880 Train. Mommy loves trains and she's ready to go.

Souvenir photo time. I think they got Mount Rushmore for a background.

Laila liked the train too.

The train didn't go very fast so it was nice to look out the window and take in the fresh air.

TOOT! TOOT!

New Friends Update!!!

This is how things looked Sunday night.(July 10th)

Then when we checked in the morning we found this. 3 little birdies. I'll call them Larry, Curly and Moe.

I can't tell them apart but my guess is that Larry and Curly are sleeping on Moe. This pic was taken Tuesday morning.

Here are my 3 birdies singing me a good morning song...or are they just hungry?

I took this picture this morning(July 14th) They've really grown a lot in three days.

Laughing Laila

Here's Laila and Mommy playing. Mommy was making funny noises and faces and Laila would laugh.

I laughed too because Laila's giggling is really cute and funny. Watch the video below to see what I mean.

Mount Rushmore

So after searching for gold in the gold mine, we continued our adventures by heading to Mount Rushmore. Leading up to our trip, Mommy showed me pictures of Lincoln in the mountain so I was really excited to see it for my own eyes.

Wow..how cool!

I'm only three but I think I might remember this when I'm older.

Here's Daddy being silly. This lady offered to take her picture with me and let ME wear her hat..but I didn't want to do it, so Daddy did.

After looking at the mountain, we went inside to see the exhibits that were set up to look at. In this picture I'm putting the finishing touches on Mt. Rushmore. Watch the video to see what I mean.

Hamel Rodeo

I've done a lot of things in my 31/2 years but I've never been to a rodeo, that is until now. I grabbed some popcorn and was ready for some action. I also had one of the best seats you get could.

I couldn't believe how much this horse was kicking and bucking to get the cowboy off.

I told you I had one of the best seats you could get. I showed Daddy how much I appreciated the view by feeding him some popcorn.

This trick rider was fun to watch. She rode those back 2 horses for about 5 minutes..standing the whole time.

Laila thought the rodeo was pretty fun too.

Broken Boot Gold Mine

After arriving in Rapid City and getting a good nights sleep, we started our next adventure by driving to Deadwood, South Dakota. Here we found the Broken Boot Gold Mine. I'm ready to explore!

And so is Laila.

Here I am checking out a deep cave within the mine.

Our tour guide told us that this wheelbarrow has been in that exact spot for close to 100 years. To learn more about this mine go here. http://www.brokenbootgoldmine.com/

This is me with a girl named Aurora. We found out her family live about 3 miles from us. We actually saw them at the library the other day.

188o Town

After spending a couple days in Sioux Falls, we hit the road towards Rapid City, South Dakota. On the way we stopped at 1880 town. http://www.1880town.com/

It was a really neat place to visit so I tried getting a room to spend the night, but was told by the beautiful lady working that they were all booked up.

I thought if I couldn't get a room, I'd get myself a cold drink so off to the saloon I went. Most of 1880 town is stuff to look at but this Saloon was open. The guy on stage is real and was playing some good music.

This friendly guy asked me to play some cards so I did. I'm pretty sure I won the game, but the suddenly not so friendly guy said I owed him money. I refused to pay up...

so me, Daddy and Laila got thrown in jail. I tried using my cell phone to call Mommy to bail us out, but found out that cell phones didn't work in 1880 town. I instead had to send Mommy a telegram..whatever that is.
